There was a lot of information shared about the manufacturing process of port which was great.... read more And great conversations within the group when we ate together. Our guide and driver Thiago made all the difference with fun conversation and so many interesting information about the produce in the area as well as the history behind them.

I learned more about Portuguese food, language, history, economics and politics than I ever would otherwise. He was a great history teacher and entertained all our questions with thoughtful and humorous answers. One of the highlights of our porto trip and portugal overall.

We had a great host - great... read more teacher, very friendly, full of life and passion for wine and teaching. He explained to us the different regions of wine in Portugal and the basics of different kinds of wine. We tried a bunch of whites, reds and even a port wine. All the wines were TOP quality so they were all really enjoyable to have. We learnt how to see the color, taste the wine, mostly it was a lot of laughing, talking and drinking.



We chose this tasting because of the sommelier experience/status of the host and the fact that it showcased a variety of wines from all over Portugal, not just Douro, not just Port wine. This turned out to be a great decision. Strongly recommended, this is definitely an experience you should sign up for!!
